February 2012

  • Antarctica, land of extremes …
After a "transit" in Buenos Aires and a short visit of Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego), the first stage of this expedition cruise was Grave Cove - New Island (Falkland Islands). We then went through the South Georgia, where all the fauna gathered together to offer us a memorable show. Finally, we penetrated in Antarctica, into penguins kingdom and into country of the glaciers in the translucent colors, leaving us unforgettable memories. I still remember me in the Paradise Bay (which fits well its name) during a Zodiac “cruise”. Its name was given to it in reference to the beauty of this bay, lined with high mountains and glaciers. The sun was there and the temperature was very pleasant. During almost one hour, we navigated in the ices of any sizes, since “brash ice” to the enormous icebergs weighing thousands of tons. I was in a very surrealist atmosphere. Like a dream, I had the impression to be the first person to discover this spotless place, which left with me an unforgettable memory! What a beautiful day for me for this first New Year's Day. Wow, I was going to forget … "CAPE HORN"! Well, it is done … On Wednesday, January 04th, 2012, I became "Cap Horner" and proud of it . You don’t trust me? You can read what I wrote in the "visitors' book" situated in the lighthouse and intended for the rare lucky people which were able to cross this mythical Cape Horn.

December 2011

  • Before starting a new year 2012 full of projects of photographic journeys, it was very beneficial and profitable to me to go through my own country... Hey yes, Switzerland is so attractive and does not stop dazzling me... Between lakes and mountains, my heart hesitates . No problem for me to find at home subjects to satisfy my curiosity and to make some beautiful photographs... My some outings before dawn gave me these last weeks many emotions and were able to calm my eternal wintry depression!. (92 photographs)

November 2011

  • No, I am not a fan of animals in general, I admit it. Having said that, I remain not less seduced in front of different wildcats. Much more than a trivial zoo, Siky Ranch in Crémines, for example, proposes an original meeting between man and wild animals among which of magnificent white tigers. As for the zoo of Servion, in front of Tinka and Ural, a single word comes to me … "RESPECT". (52 photographs)

August 2011

  • The Matterhorn is an alpine summit of 4 478 meters in height. The Matterhorn is the most known mountain in Switzerland, in particular for the pyramidal aspect which it offers since the village of Zermatt, in the German-speaking part of the canton of Valais. For me, the Matterhorn, it is simply "THE KING OF SWITZERLAND" :o) (8 panoramic views).

August 2011

  • I absolutely wanted to approach it and nevertheless I was afraid of it, this "famous" new Monte Rosa hut which we also call "Rock crystal".

    http://www.neuemonterosahuette.ch/index.php  http://www.section-monte-rosa.ch/

In spite of this warning: « ATTENTION - IMPORTANT : the Monte Rosa hut is a “high mountain” hut and not a hut for touristic hike. The ascent to the hut since Rotenboden is via a well equipped pedestrian road. The crossing of the glacier (blue-white marking) requires an adequate equipment (mountain shoes, ice axes or sticks, crampons, even rope). The access to the glacier and the route on the glacier change very often and appear sometimes very delicate. A good physical condition is essential », I went there! It was a hiking of hell in every sense of the word, I am nevertheless happy and proud to have gone there, not without difficulty of course. Special thanks to Ronald Forster, my mountain guide for these 2 days (round trip). Without Ronald, I would not have been able to do it. I succeeded in doing this hike and I was also able to immortalize this moment by realizing panoramic photos of these wonderful Swiss glaciers and mountains (7 panoramic views).

July 2011

  • Why necessarily to go abroad when we are on holidays? This summer, I stayed at home, in Switzerland and visited my attractive small country. Even if the sun was infrequent, I discovered here wonderful places and one of them is the "Aletsch Glacier". This is the biggest glacier in the Alps, situated in the South of Switzerland and in the canton of Valais/Wallis. In 2001, UNESCO registered the area of Jungfrau-Aletsch as Unesco World Heritage Site. I had already seen wonderful places around the word but here; none of them had been able to give me the very particular emotion which I felt when I was in front of this glacier. For me, the Aletsch Glacier is without any doubt the "eighth wonder of the world ". (3 panoramic views)

  • In the music side, "Malaguena Salerosa" of Chingon, a “thrilled” atmosphere! A real pleasure of the senses.

March 2011

  • Who has not dreamed of attending at least once in the Carnival of Venice? For me now, it's done and it is as I imagined: pure bliss! Nothing like the Carnival of Venice to give us the good mood in this long period of winter... I took great pleasure in meeting all these people dressed beautifully, very comfortable with the photographers and friendly with everybody. They are real passionate artists. A real delight to have met and have participated in this joyous celebration, magic, colorful & beautiful! (192 photographs)

February 2011

  • Château d'Oex (Canton of Vaud - Switzerland) hosted the 33rd edition of the International Festival of Ballooning. With its exceptional microclimate, the world capital of ballooning in the alpine environment with 80 balloons and 10 special forms from 15 different countries ... A pleasant manner "of being on cloud seven"! Once again, I had the chance to receive a media accreditation and I thank thousand times the Steering Committee of this traditional festival, a great team. (140 photographs)

January 2011

  • Each year, I repeat again, January is, without doubt, the saddest and longest month of the year! It is the ideal time to capture these beautiful snowy landscapes! Switzerland is perfect for that ... What a joy to live there (2 panoramic views)

  • In the music side, being a huge fan of Mylène Farmer since her show in 1995, here I am again fascinated by this song from her latest album "BLEU NOIR" & "LIGHT ME UP" !

December 2010

  • Upon my arrival in the pretty port of Camaret, a strange "cemetery" was immediately caught my eye ... Museum of the Sea or boats cemetery? Shipwrecks abandoned or left there on purpose so as not to be forgotten? Fishing boats, lobster boats and trawlers, they have lived long enough and contributed to the wealth of Camaret ... Time and nature have shaped the colors of these wrecks and it is thanks to them that some of the photographs stand out as art paintings freshly painted and unfinished ... It's just magical! (40 photographs)

  • Musically, unusual and extravagant ambiance with Serge Gainsbourg's "Requiem"! Too cool!

October 2010

  • You thought maybe the "Golden Bowl" had not caught my attention this year ... Not at all! In fact, my delay was due to a long and irksome removal! I'm back with the "Bol d'Or 2010" in which I participated for 5 years with a renewed pleasure every time. I had the opportunity to receive again this year a media accreditation and I can thank the persons in charge of the media " Dynamics Group" and the Organizing Committee of the " Cercle de la Voile de la SNG " ... See you for the Bol d'Or 2011, I cross my fingers, with a lot of wind !!! (72 photographs)

  • For the music, back to my favorite one... « Buddha Bar » with the song "Osmyo" !

August 2010

  • In July 2007, I already invited you all on board the vessel of legend, the SPV "STAR CLIPPER". I invite you aboard his big brother, "ROYAL CLIPPER." This 5-masts vessel with its 5000 m2 of sails is unique and is the LARGEST, MOST BEAUTIFUL, and the MOST AUTHENTIC vessel. It was a real pleasure for me to be able to photograph it from every angle. Welcome to Paradise "at sea"! (160 photographs) I would like to thank Captain Sergey Tunikov and the entire crew of this beautiful "ROYAL CLIPPER".

  • Musically, "Royal Clipper" obliges, the new background music that you can hear on board at each departure of the ROYAL CLIPPER ... "Conquest of Paradise"!

April 2010

  • The ATOMIUM became, just as the "Manneken Pis" and the "Grand Place", the symbol of the Belgium’s capital. Photographing the building during the day had already been a great recollection for me some years ago. Try to photograph it at night obsesses me from a long time ... Coming with my bulky tripod in Brussels was a great idea ... The ATOMIUM in night, it's just wonderful !!!!!! (28 photographs)

January 2010

  • I need to repeat me again, January is, without any doubt, the saddest month and longest of the year! Thus this is the ideal period to give us good mood with photographs taken during the “GAYPRIDE” in Zurich and Lausanne… I had a lot of pleasure to discover all these nice people. A true happiness to take part to this very coloured and merry festival! (50 photographs)

  • In the music side, because I am a fan of Mylène Farmer, I chose the musical environment "Sextonik"... I like it !!!

December 2009

  • Continuation and end (already) of my prolonged weekend in Paris! But which areas to choose in order to photograph the last time Paris in the night? I hurried to go to “the most beautiful avenue of the world” and then returned in the district of “Defense”! Good decision isn't it? (11 photographs and panoramic)

November 2009

  • After the Louvre and its pyramid, why not think of photographing at night the Eiffel Tower which scintillates of thousand fires? Beside, I imagined it in different colors and I wanted to verify if this fantasy was not delirium! After all, in Paris, everything is permitted, isn’t it? (16 photographs)

October 2009

  • The desire to take night pictures teases me for a long time... But what place to choose to try the experiment? Paris, of course! It is the perfect city of lights to dawdle the night! The first test with Louvre and its pyramids, as background, convinced me immediately. Finally, it bring my cumbersome tripod was a great idea ... Paris, by night, I love it! (28 photos & panoramic views)

August 2009

  • Island of ice, island of fire, land of all contrasts, Iceland bewitches and charms everyone and me the first! Wild and hard, wind, rain, hail, snow can be present at every moment, interrupted regularly with some rays of light… This country, where the shadow and the light give birth to from the magic moments in a black and unique landscape to cut you the breath, makes the happiness of the photographers. I fell in love with Iceland.

June 2009

  • Promised are made to be kept! Continuation and end of my stay in Egypt… After the temple with terraces of the queen Hatchepsout, the visit of the temples of Karnak and Louxor. (48 photographs) A week is thus completed in Egypt, a country rich in monuments. Pyramids, sphinx, tombs and temples are the witnesses of the thousand-year-old history of the country of the Nile. All along this majestic river, it is one of first great civilizations of our planet which was born there… As for me, if you decide to visit Egypt because of my photographs, my purpose will be achieved!

June 2009

  • You will discover the next stay of my trip in Egypt quite soon. Before that, I wanted to let you discover a magic place which bewitches me by its charm with the refined and tasteful ambience, “Buddha Bar” in Paris! In the Bar side, its space overhangs a gigantic Buddha which has pride of place on the dining room. For the restaurant, you will find plenty of savors and exoticisms. Lastly, in the music side, famous “Buddha-Bar” compilations of an extreme sensuality are completely heady. In conclusion, this place is a real paradise of senses! I thank Céline & Ibrahim and all the team and the direction of the “Buddha Bar”. I was kindly welcomed and I spent a marvelous moment in photographing this splendid and unique place. Thank you… Thank you… (48 photographs & 4 panoramic views)

  • In the music side, of course, « Buddha Bar » ambience ...

May 2009

  • After Edfu, navigation towards Luxor. Arrival in morning and visit of western bank of the Nile with the Hatshepsut temple and its terraces; a veritable master-work in Egypt. As for the Queen Hatshepsut, her celebrity is due to more her daring to be represented by a “masculine representation“ than her reign during the gold era of the XVIII dynasty. Conscious that her “function and position” is by tradition destined to a man, she accepted to dress male “secondary sexual characteristics” as the false beard. (46 photographs)

April 2009

  • Next “port of call” on the Nile… Edfu. Arrival in morning and visit of the Horus temple, guard of the kingship and "lord of the sky", an incarnation of the god "Sun". With its granite falcon, this temple is best preserved in Egypt. (24 photographs) As for me, the temple of the queen Hatshepsut attracted me more and it’s the next stage…

April 2009

  • Next stay in Egypt… After Philae, navigation towards Kom Ombo. Arrival in evening and visit of its temple. Tripod is of course necessary to take photographs in the night! Small drawback : if you want to visit the temples in Egypt with a tripod, don’t forget some "bakshishs" for that! But for low reliefs & hieroglyphics which I can “qualify” splendid, is it really expensive? (32 photographs)

April 2009

  • After Abu Simbel, boarding on one of the many cruising boats and ready to visit of the temple of Philae. Philae Temple was dismantled and reassembled (on Agilika Island about 550 meters from its original home on Philae Island) in the wake of the High Dam. (52 photographs)

March 2009

  • Continuation of my trip in Egypt… After Cairo, take-off towards Aswan and excursion to Abu Simbel by airplane. Located at the north of the lake Nasser, the Abu Simbel temples emerge! This "miracle" of Abu Simbel is an exceptional master-work to see absolutely. Stage often mentioned as optional in the tourist tours, it becomes obligatory if you don’t want regret your stay in Egypt! (48 photographs)

March 2009

  • Egypt … Over there, time seems be frozen … In only one week, I had the opportunity to discover the splendors of High-Egypt : a “4 nights” cruising between Aswan & Luxor, adding to the interest of the discovery the pleasure of the inland navigation … But also Cairo, with its famous pyramids of Gizeh & its Sphinx, without forgetting the temple especially "Abu Simbel" , obligatory stage to miss under no pretext if you don’t want regret something !!! First stage of this very oriental week to share with you : "Cairo" one of the seven antique wonders of the world ! (44 photographs)

February 2009

  • After this extraordinary trip in the United States, I remained quietly at the house during these last months! In spite of that, as everyone knows it, Switzerland has a lot of charming places and no problem for me to find what to satisfy my curiosity and my desires! Some new panoramic photographs could appease my eternal winter depression!!! Yes, January and February are, without any doubts, the worst months of the year !!!

February 2009

  • And the end of this marvellous tour! Between two fabulous National Parks, the road was sometimes quite long, but from many surprises awaited us throughout the road … Some stops were “impossible to miss” in order to admire the landscapes which appear impressive and oversized. Similar the American trucks, real monsters … And without forgetting, of course, a " freeze-frame" of Las Vegas, the city of all phantasms and where everything is allowed … well almost !!! (22 photographs & panoramic views)

January 2009

October 2008

  • The West Coast of the USA … Myths of America , its vast spaces and its dreams of escape … the majestic Rocky Mountains … Arid deserts … Nowhere elsewhere the continent can offer such a choice of eternal and magic landscapes of a rare beauty. My program for one week for a total change of scenery : Bryce Canyon - Arches National Park - Moab - Monument Valley - Page - Antelope Canyon - Grand Canyon & A hell of a night where everything is allowed in Las Vegas !!! First stage of this marvellous tour which I would like to share with you: famous rock-formings of Monument Valley! Welcome in the heart of the authentic America. (19 photographs & panoramas)

  • In the music side, Madonna "The Power of Goodbye" , a rather cool music to admire these mythical landscapes!

September 2008

  • New unusual experiment for me! I had the great chance to discover and to approach a splendid steam locomotive which was built in 1944… It really enabled us to travel a few moments in history and this, only thanks to the generosity of voluntary and passionate people of steam trains… www.VVT.ch: Contact them and do not hesitate to live a rare and marvellous experience on board of this "black diamond". Thanks to Misters Urs Hudritsch & Willy Siegrist, thanks also to all the Vapeur Val-de-Travers (VVT) staff? They welcome me cordially and I spent a marvellous moment in their good company and on board of their splendid locomotive. Thank you… Thank you… & still thank you… (63 photographs)

  • In the music side, this time "Bitter sweet symphony" (The Verve)

August 2008

  • Everyone knows it … for me "PASSION" rhymes with "NAVIGATION". I thus could not miss this marvellous and superb maritime festival of "Brest 2008"! Moreover, this festival is only once every 4 years… To not take part of it ... is simply madness! Yes, I know, to brave the Northern wind and the "lukewarm" Brittany’s weather, rather than to sunburn on a beach in South of France, seems completely crazy but is it really so unreasonable? These legends and cathedrals of the seas really invite you to a beautiful journey… Between the "BELEM" a three-masted ship, the "KRUZENSHTERN" a four-masted ship, the old sailing boats, etc … my heart swings !!! These giants of the seas are splendid and cut you literally the breath! I am strongly waiting for the next Brest’s festival in 4 years! My choice for the "summer 2012" holidays is already planned, even without the sun! (100 photographs)

  • For the music, a new background music ... "Conquest of Paradise" !

July 2008

  • 3 years already... I have the great privilege to attend the “Bol d’Or” race (the biggest in Europe and on a lake) and it is a pleasure each time renewed! The "Bol d’Or Mirabaud 2008" once more convinced me… To be invited on a press boat on the Geneva Lake and to take part of the principal European regatta was a great honour for me… I received again this year a media accreditation and I can thank thousand times the persons in charge of the media " Dynamics Group" and the Organizing Committee of the " Cercle de la Voile de la SNG " … What a pleasure, I can’t wait for 2009!!! (50 photographs)

  • For the music, back to my favorite one ... « Buddha Bar » !

June 2008

  • Since many months, I think to associate a little bit of colours in a “black & white” photograph … I don’t like very much to modify and retouch my photos and I hesitated for a long time. But the first test was great immediately! Therefore, I love them now! (30 photographs)

  • In the music side, definitely one of my favourite songs: "Shine on you crazy diamond" from "Pink Floyd"... Just an real RAPTURE !!!

March 2008

  • March 2008... Surprising month, at the same time very dispirited in my personal side and in another side very unusual! An astonishing meeting with some beautiful male ibexes in the Creux-of-Van (majestic “cirque” in the Canton of Neuchâtel like a tiny Grand Canyon)... My shoots before the dawn (due to insomnia) during which I could immortalize some staggering sunrises in the marina of my village St-Aubin (in front of my house) ... The Vallée de Joux and its entirely frozen ice lake... Briefly, a month rich in emotions! I thus take the advantage of this Good Friday, day off and second day of spring (where an exceptional snowstorm for St-Aubin stops me to go outside) to completely rearrange my "Swiss" chapter with larger, more attractive and newer photographs. (67 photographs)

  • In the music side, ” Le vent nous portera” (the wind will carry us) of " Noir Désir " (a French Brand) inspires to me well because my present “ frame of mind” is quite dark and melancholic!

March 2008

  • Oops ! I ended up cracking for the purchase of a new NIKON D300! Blow of heart or blow of madness... It does not matter! I have it... I keep it!

February 2008

  • A pleasant manner "of being on cloud seven"! Welcome to the Pays-d’Enhaut (Canton of Vaud - Switzerland) and this charming and very coloured festival which fills us with wonder every year. I had a good time, during this 31st International Balloon Festival of Château-d’Oex, in sharing pleasant moments. Thanks to all these “montgolfiers pilots” (balloonists) always of good temper and ready to share their passion with the public... Once again, I had the chance to receive a media accreditation and I thank thousand times the Steering Committee of this traditional festival, a great team. (135 photographs)

  • For the "accompaniment music", "FROZEN" a song of Madonna inspires me well to leave the ground and fly over the always bewitching and impressive Swiss Alps!

January 2008

  • Two new pages of wallpapers just for you... and a “foretaste”, with the below photograph, of my next chapter “Balloon Festival” ... to discover soon !

January 2008

  • January is, without doubt, the saddest month of the year ! It is thus the best period to discover my new chapter named "Ports of Call"... With these photographs taken during magical cruises in Italy, Greece, Croatia and Corsica, I say NO to tiredness and winter dumps ! (106 photographs)

  • In the music side, I chose to stopover in Corsica Island in France, with a song of "I MUVRINI", Corsican Music band which sings the tradition and the insular culture, with a polyphonic and modern style ... I MUVRINI will never stop to touch me ...
